Voice Therapy
Muscle tension, reflux of stomach acid, surgery in the head or neck and changes in the surface of the vocal folds can all have an impact on how easy it is to make sound or the quality of the sound. A voice that is hoarse or painful to produce or just doesn’t meet your needs may improve with help. Voice therapy helps to balance posture, breath support and muscle relaxation to assist you in making the best voice possible with the least amount of effort whether in daily conversation or for work.
Inducible Laryngeal Obstruction (ILO), Vocal Cord Dysfunction (VCD) , or Paradoxical Vocal Fold Movement (PVFM) are some of the terms used to describe a breathing function disorder. Guided breathing retraining, along with assistance in determining and addressing underlying triggers, can greatly assist in reducing the impact of this disorder.

Fluency Therapy
In addition to training in both stuttering modification and fluency shaping techniques, Lori draws from her background as a voice therapist and vocal coach where breath and muscle relaxation are key aspects in training to bring an eclectic approach to stuttering therapy. Working with older children and adults, Lori seeks to help them understand and explore their stuttering in a safe environment, as well as to learn and apply techniques to assist in fluent speech.
Articulation Therapy
At times, particular speech difficulties persist into the teenage years or adulthood. Consistent, clear pronunciation of “s”, “r” and “th” sounds may remain problematic for some people. By learning to accurately say these sounds (or any others) you can improve your confidence in personal presentation.
